RYAN PROPOSED TO ME ON CHRISTMAS!!!

sooo excited!
...and just short of our 4 year anniversary, oh man I love him.

Christmas time always seems to sneak up on me...and quite frankly, I should start before Halloween. I wish I could skip out this year...I don't need or really want anything right now except more time to get things done in. Ryan and I did the gym thing for each other for birthdays and Christmas, so we are good to go.
I think I am over it being slow this time of year at work, ready for the new year.

I've been baking a lot recently, the pie above is a chocolate angel pie (chocolate mousse on a baked pecan meringue crust) the one beneath is a shoofly pie (a fluffy mollasses pie, that bubbled over a bit, but was still delicious.) Both of there recipes are ones my grandma used to make before they moved to the retirement community and she stopped cooking/baking.

Toki seems to always be posing in some way...

Ollie has been acting a LOT nicer since he is an indoor/outdoor kitty now...he will even cuddle now, which melts my heart.

Woke up to this pending sunrise, it's cool and clear, and gosh, just so pretty. The sheets on this bed are the softest I have felt in years, quite honestly, this is the first time I have slept alone in a full sized bed in about a year...I sprawled out and bed hogged the hell out of it.

I came up to Blowing Rock with Ryan and his family, it's just easier this way...our families are a lot alike, only his still feels the need to be nice to me.
Thanksgiving is the one time of year that I really do just want to punch someone. Chelsea getting married next spring and flaunting it, as well as sexist cousin assuming the holy roller position, today would have been ideal circumstances to show my ass and become even more hated in the family...
I will say, my birthday dinner in Greensboro on Tuesday was incredible and I had a great time seeing my parents, grandparents and sisters...they are fine but when it comes to cousins, aunts and uncles, I am just over them.
Mom and Dad got me a food processor for my birthday...I love it and can't wait to use it.

I am looking forward to lunch/dinner tonight...man oh man, although I will be missing out on some chocolate angel pie and some shoo fly pie, which just means I will have to make my own this week.

furnace is dead, the HVAC guy came in and when he saw it said, "I haven't seen one of these in AGES!" which I knew was a bad sign.
Our landlord is getting a new one installed today, YES!

found out I AM doing the SLC tattoo convention in February with Dave...I feel like it's a bit over my head, and am nervous about it, but I think it'll be a good experience.

going to my first professional sports event this evening, Ryan's parent gave us tickets to see the Carolina Panthers play the Miami Dolphins tonight after work, I'm excited.

I am a bit sore from yesterday, which is GOOD!
back to the gym tomorrow morning!!!

 


I really want to fill this whole thing in within the next 5 years.
CO in February , FL in March, I'd like to go to CA and WA as well, who knows, maybe I will swing a trip soon, for the hell of it.

i can't wait until next halloween, however, i am not sure if it could ever top this year.
halloween on a saturday with day light savings "fall back" the next day, a full weekend of going out and celebrating birthdays, and two nights of halloween madness back to back....
blood wrestling, cook out, 150+ people showing up for my shops halloween party, kasey as a unicorn, making the link costume,
placing in the costume contest, and on and on and on.

still too lazy to post all the photos from the shop halloween party, it will happen one day though haha.

Converge, Mastadon and Dethklok tonight...I don't think I've been this excited about a show in years.

so here is how my Link costume turned out. I'll have better pictures soon of it, I need to take photos of the details cause I obsessed over them. I have the Hylian shield (it's the only real thing I bought for the costume besides fabric, I didn't have the time or tools to make one) and I made a master sword scabbard (for my sword, which is a 5 dollars sword from target ) and my bracers out of paper mache, cardboard, latex and paint. I sewed the tunic and hat, altered a turtle neck into a white under tunic, sewed in fake chain mail, crochetted the padding for under the bracers, had to put in extensions to make my hair more blonde in the front.

I have 450 photos from last nights Halloween Party at my work.
Twice as many people as last year showed up and we all had a BLAST.
We had luchadora blood wrestling (get it? blood sweat and tears) the Penguin brought us out a 100lb pig, cole slaw, beans and buns.
Everyone got drunk and had a grand ole time...
once I finish uploading photos, I'll post them. SOOOO funny.
